Ben’s journey began with 12 years at Procter and Gamble, mastering the fundamentals of global business.

He later served as CFO of Boots before becoming Chief Executive of Boots Opticians. There, he didn't just manage the bottom line—he led the merger with Dollond and Aitchison and spearheaded a major initiative to address children’s eyesight issues.

At Clarks Shoes, Ben led the turnaround of the business across the UK and Europe. He recognized the changing landscape of the high street early, successfully shifting the business focus toward digital innovation and wholesale opportunities, securing the brand's future in a modern market.

St John’s Foundation

Chair (2019-2024) of the UK’s 11th oldest charity (est. 1174). Ben oversaw the provision of alms-houses and the establishment of the Foundation Fund to improve educational outcomes.

National Literacy Trust

Trustee & Co-chair of the Business Leaders Literacy Council, working to improve outcomes across the UK.

CLPE Chairman

In 2025, Ben became Chairman of the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education, continuing his crusade for better education standards.
