High streets are changing, but they remain the heart of our towns. We need a radical new approach to business rates and parking.
Ben Fletcher has today unveiled a comprehensive 5-point plan to save Cheshire's high streets.
The plan includes a freeze on council parking charges for the next 4 years, a 'pop-up' shop fund to help local entrepreneurs test their ideas in vacant units, and a dedicated task force to clean up graffiti and litter.
Local decisions made by local people.
Securing funding for infrastructure.
'We cannot let our town centres become ghost towns,' Ben said. 'This plan puts money back into the pockets of small business owners and makes our high streets distinct, vibrant destinations again.'
